NICOLE PAPP

I enjoy making genuine connections with people and understanding the whole story of who they are. I am in love with colour, creativity and design. My love for people and design fuse together to result in problem solving and creative solutions that are human centred and empathetic.
I believe the key to making a great product that people love is to speak to the end user as much as possible during the iterative design process. Research and design should be a consultative process with the user as your ally, creating a symbiotic relationship between the company and user.
I am a UI/UX designer. I am skilled at using qualitative and quantitative research methods to inform digital and physical design solutions. I fell in love with the User Experience field during my Masters of Digitial Experience Innovation at the University of Waterloo Stratford School of Interaction Design and Business which has continued in my career. Throughout my UX process, I strive to understand the scope of the problem, the industry it is a part of and most importantly the user. I love telling a story in the form of user personas linked to use cases informed by user feedback. Blending both digital and physical experiences gets me really excited because I get to see the entire user journey come to life.
"I’m a chocolate and coffee lover adept at approaching a problem at with both big picture and high detail level thinking."

MY PROCESS

Research
My blend of knowledge in human psychology and behaviour, design thinking, along with my drive for needing to find the right solution to a given human problem are the fuel to my love for market research and user experience research. I evaluate the problem, ask questions and seek participants using my social media and relationship building expertise.

Idea Generation
Using my skills in user research and statistical analysis, I use data to tell a story and find a relationship in what a mass of end users are saying. I use data in the creation and implementation of packaged solutions for human problems. Continuous iteration on existing solutions are also something that I enjoy.

Design
I have a love for clean design that is modular and practical. The designs I create are informed by research and idea generation. I enjoy combining colours and styles into a final design that presents well in various formats such as wireframes, websites and print media. My strong ability to use Adobe Products and Sketch allows me to create final products that are professional, creative and beautiful.

Presentation
In addition to being able to create a well designed final product, I am able to also create a final report and presentation that captures an audience and is able to promote change through research on a group of end users. Through presenting the original problem, outlining the user research methods used, the findings and creative recommendations, my ability to present drives change and impact.
